What is the 7 Days to Die SandboxCode?

Since V3.0, 7 Days to Die stores a server's custom game settings in a single SandboxCode property in serverconfig.xml instead of separate properties for difficulty, XP, loot and zombies. This generator covers all 165 sandbox options in the V3.2 game across the same 8 tabs as the in-game Sandbox Options screen, and starts from any of the game's 17 built-in presets.

How to use it

  1. Pick a preset, or change any option from its default.
  2. Click copy as xml to copy the finished <property name="SandboxCode" value="..." /> line.
  3. Replace the SandboxCode line in your server's serverconfig.xml and restart the server.

Questions

Can I read an existing code?

Yes. Paste it under paste code and click import; every option it sets is shown in the tabs. A share link carries the code in the address, so anyone opening it sees the same settings.

Why is my code so short?

The code only lists options that differ from the default. A server on all default settings has the code A.

Do codes made before V3.2 still work?

Mostly. V3.2 added a Default choice to Max Loot Quality, Crafting Max Quality and Trader Max Quality, which shifts those three settings by one step. If an older code sets any of them, check those values after importing it.
